Western Sydney Wanderers are looking to re-sign Nicolas Milanovic from Aberdeen after a tough spell under new manager Stephen Robinson. The Aussie international made the move across the globe to Pittodrie last summer to sign for then manager Jimmy Thelin's side in a deal worth around £400,000 for the nation's young player of the year. Milanovic has now been told he can leave the Dons for the right price this summer after falling out of favour under Robinson. Western Sydney Wanderers are keen to take him back down under, where he came through the ranks and could regain confidence and get his career going again. Milanovic has other interest in Australia and Asia and is considering what the future holds. He has two caps for the Australian national team and still has a long-term contract at Pittodrie with two years left plus another club option of 12 months. The 24-year-old has failed to make an impact in Scotland, making 23 appearances, many of them as a substitute, and contributing just one goal assist at Aberdeen. New manager Robinson came in and played a 3-5-2 formation to scramble the Dons to Premiership safety, which meant that Milanovic hardly got a look in. Robinson has since been told that if he wants to make major changes to his squad, then he has to generate funds from within. There is interest in Milanovic, Marko Lazetic, Palaversa, Kenan Bilalovic, and Alexander Jensen, who were all major signings under Jimmy Thelin but could all go to free up money for further strengthening. Western Sydney Wanderers's interest in Milanovic could be a good opportunity for the player to revive his career and make a positive impact on the team. The transfer deal is still in the works, and it remains to be seen if a deal can be done for Aberdeen to minimise their financial losses and cover themselves with future add-ons.
