Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed the departures of seven first team players, as new Head Coach Ufuk Talay looks to revamp the squad ahead of the 2026-27 A-Leagues campaign. Midfielder Josh Brillante departs after three seasons in Western Sydney, having made 66 appearances since moving from Melbourne Victory in 2023. New Zealand international Kosta Barbarouses leaves the Wanderers after one season at the club, making 28 appearances and scoring 11 goals across all competitions. Barbarouses joined the Wanderers from Wellington Phoenix ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and made a strong impact in attack, contributing important goals and bringing valuable experience to the squad throughout the season. Midfielder Bozhidar Kraev, who also joined from Wellington Phoenix, departs after two seasons at the club and played an important role in helping the Wanderers reach the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League Finals Series. The Bulgarian international made 52 appearances and scored 13 goals in the Isuzu UTE A-League during his time in Western Sydney. A-Leagues Champion Alou Kuol is also now on the market after his one-year contract came to an end. The forward scored one goal in 14 appearances last season. And defenders Phillip Cancar and Ruon Tongyik have also departed, bringing an end to their respective second spells in Western Sydney. Jacob Farrell has also left the club and now returns to English Championship side Portsmouth FC following the conclusion of his six-month loan spell.
